Marian University Generator Status
According to Federal guidelines Marian University is a Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generator (CESQGs). In Wisconsin this term has been changed to a Very Small Quantity Generator (VSQG). To maintain this status will will not exceed the quantity limits for a VSQG.
Quantity Limits: Do not generate more than or equal to 110kg (220 lbs.) of hazardous waste a month;
On-Site Accumulation Quantity: Less than or equal to 1000 kg (2,200 lbs.); and less than or equal to 1 kg (2.2 lbs) of acute hazardous waste; less than or equal to 100kg (220 lbs.) of acute spill residue or soil.

Regulations
Waste can be classified as Hazardous, Non-Hazardous, or Universal. Disposal records are maintained by the Environmental Health and Safety Specialist.
Campus Services uses a licensed company to pickup used lamps and batteries for recycling.
The IT Department uses 5R Processors LTD for used electronic equipment and data destruction; items are either refurbished and resold or donated for reuse or destroyed in compliance with EPA and Wisconsin DNR regulations governing the disposition of scrap electronic equipment.
The EHS Specialist coordinates disposal of chemical waste from University operations.
